THE GRAPHICS
For the “On My Grind” project, it was all about diving deep into the details to make Nerdy G’s single pop. For the cover art, it wasn’t just about getting Nerdy G in the shot; it was about building a whole scene around him. Those cardboard boxes weren’t just random props—they had these custom "Nerdy G" stickers slapped on each one, branding the whole scene like it was his warehouse.
And that Gemini symbol on his chest? That wasn’t just for show or zodiac pride; it was a shout-out to his stage name, “Nerdy Gemini,” a cool little insider nod for those who’d catch it. It was drawn right on him, not part of the sweatshirt—kind of a temporary tat vibe that made it way more personal.
Linking up with Nerdy G for this was like syncing up playlists when you find someone with the same taste in music—effortless. We hashed out the lyrical side of things super quick. The edit, though? Man, that was a beast. Blurring out bits in the video was like learning to ride a bike again—totally new to me and a bit of a facepalm process in hindsight. But hey, we got it done, and it looked slick in the end.
For the lyric video, it was all about nailing the timing. Nothing too wild, just making sure those words hit right on beat.
In the end, it was pretty rad to see it all come together—the cover, the videos, and all the buzz when we launched. Just a solid grind from start to finish.
the music video
The "On My Grind" music video. It was one helluva day where we shot everything, doubling up with a photoshoot too—all in this one spot that was like the heart of hustle city. Nerdy G was all in, throwing himself into different work setups, showing what grind really looks like, you know?
I was in charge of directing and editing, and let me tell you, it felt like I was on some epic quest or something. I was knee-deep in footage, making sure each clip we shot that day was oozing the same kind of grind the lyrics were spitting. Blurring stuff out left and right—that was the tricky part, a total newbie move for me, but kind of thrilling at the same time. I'm pretty sure I did it the hard way, but hey, you live and you learn, right?
Then there was the lyric video. That was a whole different beast. It was all about getting those words to hit just as the beat drops, making sure they're moving with the flow. Like, if Nerdy G says it, you see it—boom, boom, boom.
By the time we wrapped up, both the music video and the lyric vid were like these epic sagas of our grind. More than just something to watch, they were like the stories of all the blood, sweat, and beats we poured into this project. Wrapping this up felt huge—not just ticking off a to-do list, but like we'd gone on this massive creative journey, camera in hand and beats in our heads.
